Candlelight Stroll at Strawbery Banke
One of Portsmouth’s favorite holiday traditions returns to Strawbery Banke Museum December 4–6, 11–13 and 18–20, 2026.
The annual Candlelight Stroll brings the historic Puddle Dock neighborhood to life with decorated historic homes, costumed roleplayers, seasonal music and hundreds of years of holiday traditions. This year’s theme, “Welcome, Neighbor,” celebrates the community that has shaped the neighborhood for generations.
While you’re there, look for performances from Ice Dance International’s Currier & Ives Vintage Christmas Skaters at Labrie Family Skate at Puddle Dock Pond.

Go Ice Skating at Puddle Dock Pond
For a classic New England winter experience, head to Labrie Family Skate at Puddle Dock Pond at Strawbery Banke Museum.
The outdoor rink generally opens in late November or early December, weather permitting, and offers public skating throughout the winter. Skate rentals are available, so you don’t need to bring your own.
